Ph.D. in Physical Geography from the University of Lisbon in 2006. He is currently teacher in High School and researcher at the Center for Geographical Studies and member of the CliMA research unit. He collaborates in the project RAIDEN - Lightning activity in Portugal: variability patterns and socioeconomic impacts. Main interests in Climatology focus on climate variability (in particular the variability of precipitation), diagnostic climatology, and the analysis of extreme weather events. He also works on analysis and graphical representation of weather data using specific software (GrADS, Matlab, Octave).
